If You are thinking of starting Your Own Website, it is easier than One may think.
How about a free Web Site to hone Your creativity skills and generally play around with. This way You can ascertain if spending lots of Money on a Site is for You.

Well ... I wonder if anyone actually is interested in a Free Website.
By the lack of response in this Forum, I would suggest "no"
BUT, if anyone indeed did take an interest, I no longer can recommend Freewebs ... though they have they do not have active mods in their Forums, leaving it open for a "free for all" which would make the average User think twice before Signing Up. Then there is the Forum Spamming that just goes on and on ... and on (a bit like me)

Got distracted and disinterested and overcome by the cares of this immediate world of mine..Thanks so much for coming by and giving updated impressions of this...this now has really cooled my ardor. i've always (well, almost always) said that free comes with a horde of headaches.

Hi Big Al ... it is all "trial & error" and I have been with Freewebs for several years ... both as free and Premium Paid Site, I still do have a "premium" Site there, well, a Partnership. But, I am afraid their Forum has deteriorated. It had become God infested, even in "new ideas" "web design ideas" etc etc ... God was there! This now brought the Devil into the Arena, now God and the Devil fight it out while all You really want is how to better design Your Site Without better Moderation, the Forums are not fit venues for anyone ... My opinion of course ... and I am no bloody prude being an Ex Sailor, Pirate and Buccaneer

Hello Fay ... Master Tedz at Your Service. I am glad You did give it a go, starting Your Own Website, it is still fun ... just keep out of the Forum. Other Members at Freewebs openly suggest other "free" Sites are much better ... but, there is often some hidden cost to "free". In Freewebs case, it is the "free" User that carries the Adverts.

Maybe a couple of years, when I still had my business going I would have tied it, as I was approached by many a shifty operator with dollars in their eyes, tried one who folded within the first three months....oh! well thats life.

But hey maybe I'll try it just for fun.

A free web site is a great way to start, i started with bravenet which is also free and have basic templates for you to use and a easy set up... they also give you the option to upgrade as and when you are ready

I did build my own website a couple of years ago with my ISP, which was free I used it for my wife's watercolour paintings which I photographed for her, she was selling the paintings at a tenner each which I thought was low, Problems started when the taxman started nosing around. so we dropped the idea. In fact the site is still online which surprises me as I have not bee wit BT for over a year. It can be found at PAINTING FOR PLEASURE
