Help for RSS Feeds
As I already mentioned I am upgrading my website, and was possibly also of thinking of adding RSS feeds to my site.
Questions though: Can I use this RSS to let people know about my gallery updates? Is it free, and more importantly is it easy to set up if possible?
If anyone has any snippets of info or help on this I would be forever grateful - to be honest I know little about them, so I may be doing this on a false idea LOL

RSS feeds are XML files but they are usually dynamically built. You can build XML files and update them using notepad easily though if your only adding content now and again.
There are a huge amount of articles over the web on how to create them, do a google search for something like "how to create XML files" and you should get good results.
If you do get stuck with any of them, don't hesitate to let me know.
The only charge would be the bandwidth used on your site when people take a feed from your XML file. XML files are nothing more than text files with a structured data format.

Also if you click on http://www.phototopix.co.uk/external.php , right click on a white part of the page and select view source, you'll see how the XML markup is used. You can do this to view any other XML/RSS feeds on any site. View the source on a few via your browser and you'll get a good understanding how they are built up.
