Hi Barry .. that is girly speak .. thingamabob .... thingamajig .. whachamacallit ... None of us go in for that technical talk . such as program .. etc .. .. but we do read .. lol ... reading is a girly thing .. trial and error is a male thing ... I know .. hubby just bought a bbq .. the instructions are taped up for me to read .. while he attempts to put it together. ... lol.
Cheers

That's really helpful thank you for posting it Genese. I've only recently bought a DSLR and am still struggling to get to grips with camera controls and images that aren't in focus. I like the step by step little at a time approach it works well for a newbie like me. Hopefully it wont be long before I start to experiment taking shots in a RAW format

hi mausue your more than welcome... and thank you all rolled into one
Its best to get used to the camera and how it handles before getting to technical ... i found forums and photography magazines brilliant for learning how to use the camera, also experimenting. have fun

This was very good for me as well genese, as it seems to be my week area.
Week in a sence that I am unable to import it into P/Shop, without first using Raw Converter, and after all, that defeats the whole purpose of shooting raw in the first place.
Intesting getting onto white balance and your suggestion of using tungsten for night shots, I tried using tungsten film for night shots only to be surprised to find that they came out just too blue for my liking. Yes I know that I can recolour them in P/Shop but that simply turns out similar to shooting in daylight and recolouring them.
At least I think so.
Thanks,

You may be having problems opening your RAW in photoshop because either photoshop is not set as your default to open Images... or you did not tick the box for photoshop to manage RAW files when you first downloaded the program ... if you are still having problems i can help you sort this?
tungsten ... I guess its all down to taste i find it works well for very dark night shots rather than early evening.. i have been known to use florescent for them too.. shot if you need a hand with the photoshop issue .. its relatively easily solved

Thank you again genese. I will try and see if I can sort all this out.
I'll start by checking to see if the box is ticked in P/shop.
I've never been the best computer guru in my village!
But I must lift my game.
Cheers
