Well my theory of installing Adobe Reader as a different product didn't work Bridge is still throwing up the error message.
Eos1nrs Thanks for your input on this one, It looks as if I shall have to uninstall CS2 and remove all the bits again and try a fresh install

I have done an uninstall and reinstalled Photoshop CS2 after clearing all the bits, or so I thought, anyway, at the momentall is working as it should, but being pessamist, I shall wait for the next nasty screen to pop up. Thanks to all for the input, but have your answers ready for when it happens again

Allen

Did you deactivate CS2 on the old pc before loading on to the vista machine.

The license agreement allows two installations ie one on a laptop and one on a pc. You cannot have two activated licenses launched and running at the same time.

You may need to go on to the old pc and deactivate it from that machine.

Alan, Thanks for that info on deactivation. It was something that never crossed my mind but does seem a very logical answer. The problem now is that I gave the old computer to my son to se if he could get it working and he has changed a lot of the hardware, and then went off for a couple of weeks working so I am not sure if the HDD is still intact
