Default HELP Screen shots.

Have seen a few people use screen shots to explain a tecnique,
how do you do them? and do you need a dedicated piece of software to do it...???

If you are using a PC,
press print screen, then paste it into your image software.

If you are on a laptop you may have press the function key as well, i do with mine. you can just control-V into word, powerpoint or a blank document in photoshop etc.

By just pressing Print screen you get the whole of the screen, what I think you are looking for is a way to just show a part of the screen, if this is the case, Google for Gadwin Print Screen and download their small bit of FREE software

Steve mate, and anyone else using P'shop..If you shift+PrintScreen then open new document in Pshop it will automatically size to whatever you have just screen grabbed..then CRTL+v then flatten your layers to use as a jpeg

Andy, That still captures the whole of the screen, yes you can crop it but I still think that the best way arounf the print screen issue is to use Gadwin or something similar.another one is Snipper, you can draw around what you need to capture and copy it to your clipboard

am sorted now!!! have gone the PS route as the laptop seems to be getting a bit slow of late so try to utilise what iv'e already got to perform new tasks.....
