Default Adobe Lightroom

Greetings to everyone.
Awhile ago I trailed the free beta version of lightroom, loved the interface and what could be done with the program, particularly liked the idea of a one stop shop for most images. There wre numerous screen freezes and a few other probs.
I bought the latest version recently expecting that things would have been sorted.Alas!
Anyone familiar with this?Any advice would be welcome.

I use lightroom 1.2 and don't have any problems. However, saying that <ahem> I did fall into the trap of looking at my photos while lightroom was still importing. It did freeze the program </ahem>

Best advice is to import your images, and leave alone until finished.

Hope this helps

Sorry Alistair, just gone back to this thread. If yr still on it...
1 every time I start the program, whether I'm connected to the net or not I get a screen up asking me to connect?2I can load images into library, can quick developbut when I go to develop,90+% of the time the screen freezes and "lightroom not responding" comes up.There's no way out but to quit.Is it just me?Shame 'cos when it works it's brilliant,I think.i did check adobe for help...there's pages of stuff to try,and it all sounds a bit complicated to me.So sounds like maybe not just me.I have thought about trying to get my money back but I'll keep trying it for the times it does do what it says on the can.Cheers.

Hi Ken,

I’m no software guy but what I’d do is to uninstall, then re install to see if this helps, also check that you have version 1.3 (the latest) downloaded.

When it works it is really brilliant

Alistair

If you open your user profile, there is a box to tick to be notified of posts that you are subscribed to via email. Although I thought that by default it was checked.

Not had that problem but if I have both PS Lightroom and PS CS running at the same it appears to slow
so now work with only Lightroom running, and then close down when finished then open PS CS
I bought PS Lightroom on www but asked for the CD to be sent not sure if you bought on line and downloaded on line as this are the options available
Cheers Peter

So far I have not had any problems running both Lightroom and CS2 together. I generally have Dreamweaver and Fireworks open as well. I only running 1gb of ram but with a fast processor and windows XP.
