Ive got it!
Photographers Comments
An ice-hockey match we came upon randomly at Edmonton mall - this was taken for my son who is a mad ice-hockey fan .... and we live in Australia where hardly anyone has even heard of the game, let alone plays and follows it!
I have cropped this and cloned out the boot from a player on the righ of the image ... not sure if I need to try and remove the player in the background. (I dont know how to do that successfully anyway)! All comments welcome!

Wahey! I Love ice hockey. sold a few stock shots last year of the Guildford Flames. My friend is team photographer now. Good action shot this. touch dark and green but otherwise great image! i wouldnt clone to much stuff as this sport is fast and furious and you always get things in the fore/background!
Hope you dont mind but i quickly just brightened it a tad and adjusted for yellow/green cast (from the lights)Like i said, I Love Ice Hockey
British Ice Hockey
shot of mine!
Thanks for sharing!
Andy

Very well done for getting such a great shot of a very difficult sport to photograph (I know, my son played ice hockey for years and I never did managed to get a decent shot!). I agree with Brad (how's Angie btw?) that it's a tad green but I wouldn't bother trying to clone out the background figure, narrower depth of field (if possible) would have helped blur it more and make it less conspicuous but as it is, it's a well caught moment. Well done!

Hi, you have managed to capture the action well, producing a good sharp image, which is not easy with fast action and poor lighting conditions. You must be pleased with this image.

Thankyou for all your encouragement, everyone - I was pleased that this one turned out (the only one of many!).
Thankyou, Andy, for your suggestions - I totally agree with them and will do as you suggest.
My 31 year old son plays hockey and coaches a junior team here in Australia - whilst we were busily touring Canada (he was so jealous!) in May this year (hence this photo) he managed to have a freak encounter with a hockey puck and ended up with a depressed fracture (in 4 places) of his cheek bone ..... and has lost feeling on that side of his face .... he wasn't even on the ice. Fast and furious best describes this game!

Hi Lenita .. 2 mintues for high sticking .. lol ... the player in the basic white has a high stick .. might have been a bit of slashing going on there. . lol .. I have watched a fair amount of hockey over the years .. and more so since my grandson . plays hockey .. he started playing when he was 4 and now he is 15. It really is hard to get a Good photo .. What I find that really works is take a short movie of it . then u can go through and pick out a still. When u come back to Canada .. there is always hockey games going on all year round .. at any of the ice rinks. Lots of amateur games but still fun to watch.
Cheers
Else
