HDR: PreFlight
Photographers Comments
Took this image earlier tonight, met up with Len, in Bedale. Unfortunately the balloon never actually got into flight, so this was the best I could get.
I had to do some extensive cloning, and really need to redo it (especially on left hand side of balloon).
It was the sky after the showers/downpour and the colours of the grass and shadows that made me convert this to HDR

Hi mate,
the colours in this are fantastic, so deep and rich, for me it's perfect use of HDR.
I just wish you hadn't cropped the top of the balloon, if the grass horizon was on the bottom third line you'd have an absolute belter IMHO.

Yes it would have been a lot better if I got the top in. I wasn't quick enough to get another shot off before it deflated! LOL
I got another shot with all the balloon in, but the angle is not as low at this one was.
Thanks for looking and taking the time to comment, mate

Hi Mate
Didn't realise you got this shot well done.
Wish I could master the PS/PSPro and HDR would love to produce images like this.
12 Ballons went up on Sunday morning I wasn't there though.
Just posted some cricket shots.

Hi Len
Got this one, and a few others to play around with - mostly the same pose.
The missus woke me up at 7am yesterday to tell me there were at least 11 of the balloons just taking off - "thats nice dear" I replied and went back to sleep!!!! LOL
If you are using PSPro you should be able to create the images you need for HDR from one photograph (this image in this post is from one shot) and export it with one under exposed and the other over exposed. Then run it through a HDR program
Nice cricket shots by the way
Mark

This is fantastic!
Yes, it would have been nice to have more sky above the balloon, but for me this still works. The low angle is superb, which adds an extra dimension to the scene and i particularly like the shadows creeping across the grass. The HDR process has brought out the balloon's fabric really well too.
Brilliant work, mate!

Thank you very very much for your comments, Paul, am really pleased you like - like you say, if I had gotten all the balloon in it would have made the shot.
Like you, I like the shadows in the foreground, I personnaly think it helps with the image. The colours (I think) also worked, but am just kicking the posteria area I didn't get the whole balloon.
I do have a shot of the ballon (full view) and was toying with the idea of combining that with the current foreground....
Who knows it might work
Thanks again for taking the time to visit this image and for your comments, mate, really appreciate them
MARK
