Default Bang, and the fence is gone

Photographers Comments
Was glad to get this shot, The rider here, spoke to my brother about our horse we recently sold, which obviuosly would be upsetting, and a dirty tactic to play.. so this cheered him up some what, along with the two 1sts we won.

I feel alot of my photos were a bit too soft. i have a 70-300 apo DG sigma, can anyone reccomend a better lens for sport action tography...in the £0-£300 range.
J

Ahh revenge is sweet Jam, I have the same lense & my results at the shows are pants..
Have a quick look at the gallery on my site (Grace & friends) these were all shot with the old Nikon 24-120, obviously not as rangey as the 70-300 but usually ok for jumping, but not x-country.

Hi Jam, Look around and see if you can find a secondhand Sigma 70-200 f2.8, this is a excellent lens for sport and have used it a lot at horse events.

Hi Jam,

Here is a horsey image taken with my old Sigma 70-210 f2.8, this image has been printed at 12in x 18in and is super sharp. So this or the 70-200 f2.8 would be a good investment, maybe others can comment further.
