"Templates are good but limiting. Photography is quite art form and as such people express themselves in many different ways and use different terminology".
Andy
I agree, but, one of the issues seems to be lack of confidence/experience and at the very least a template would help those people who want firmer guidlines on what/how they should be looking at in a photograph and therefore provide photographers with a more comprehensive critique.

True. one of the main themes running is of the beginners not knowing technically how to crit a shot or whether they have enough experience to give good opinion. this is where i think templates would be useful but sometimes if someone has something to add that maybe the template doesnt offer. i know you cant please everyone and no doubt the system will fine tune itself over time.. glad i'm not Paul...no pressure mate lol

I guess a way of overcoming this would be to have an extra option in the template for "any other comments" to allow the freedom you are speaking of?

What would also be nice is that someone does do a crit, is to have some feedback as to whether it was helpful or not. That is some crit on the crit.
Cheers Rex

Ric, I have to blame somebody Good to see you've stopped by, I'm still trying to get my head around all the great feedback and comments but hope to mold it all together soon into a very workable but simple solution for everyone.
