Just dont want to do anything to stopthe growth of the site, i know we have never met but i do feel amongst friends here and i have got better at taking pictures which is the reason the site should exist.

Steve, i have no fancy cameras, six months experience but still try to offer my personal take on a photograph. I have no formal training or real experience but sometimes i crit something and then someone else disagrees andi can see their point of view either through more experience or they just saw something i didnt!

There is no right or wrong, what i am saying is critique of a photo is not an exact science. When i started Barry did a retake on one of my photos and i couldnt believe he took the time to do this! Now even i with my limited knowledge has a go at helping other people.

This is what we have to get over to people, we ALL LEARN from this process!!

Paul i have never typed so much sorry!

I think this is a great idea Paul, it's not a problem for me as I have had a creativity block for what seems a lifetime now lol and if anything I feel I comment too much without displaying much of my own stuff.

The only problem I see is where there is not much to say about a photo, there is one that Tedz seems to think should have had some comments, personally I can't find anything constructive to say about it - it's a good picture, end of.

Overall tho, great idea, I think you should implicate it asap

George mate, if you see an image, just say why you like it..you might point out things that other less experienced members than yourself wouldnt and that would benefit them as well. everyone has something to offer no matter the experience of their photographic talent. i would always welcome comments even if someone said good crop or nice tones..
I certainly feel a little small when Tawny post her wildlife stuff as it really is stunning. i miss things other members pick up that arent in my field but just want to join in!! I hope i dont sound all high and mighty here.sorry!!

Hi George, not all members have SLR's so i cant comment on technical issues around lenses and stuff. I dont see this site is for people who own SLR's (i wish i had one mind) i see it as people who like photography and want to get better. Been here since the start and everyone made me welcome even though i had no experience and a £200 camera!! I do like to say what i feel and what i see and its never based on technical thoughts!!

Just know i love this site and want it to grow, and to do this i think Paul is right it cant be a place where we just put our pix.

As I have already mentioned in other posts about critique, it does not matter how much experience you have, just look at the picture and comment on what you see. As we all see different things in different images. I have commented on certain images, and some people have agreed with me while other people have said the complete opposite. I think it is good to have different peoples viewpoints and I for one have certinally leant a lot from it be it my own images or someone else's. So any way of getting more critique can only improve this site.
