Connectivity Issues

Hi Everyone,

You will have noticed we have been experiencing intermittent connection issues when trying to access PhotoTopix recently. This has been escalated to our host engineers and they are currently looking into the issues and hopefully will things will be fixed really soon.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and please bear with us.

Yep, I have noticed, I thought it was my comp and connection at first but other sites seem fine.

It's been difficult noticing the speed and problems for me at home as my own home connection has dropped to under 1kb a sec and I can't start to tell you how painful that is!

I've been so tempted, believe me

My connection started to deterioate last October from 8mb to around 1mb but for what I need it for it put up with it but now it's a bit of joke and dreading that 2 hour call to my ISP to get them to call out an engineer.

Thats sounds like a really bad connection paul, it needs sorting,Well good luck to you mate, they'll no doubt pass the buck and blame someone else, mine do whenever we have problems, I get my wife to phone up as I'd end up getting wound up with them LOL.

Who are you with if it's ok to ask?
Mine used to run at 4.5meg but it stopped working, orange couldn't fix it so I ended up fixing it myself after reading an odd method to cure it on a forum!
They had put my speed down to 1meg in an attempt to fix it, so I requested a speed upgrade online, now it's 2.5ish and I got an email saying my contract has been extended for 12 months as I had a free upgrade!!!
Like you I just don't want to make that call to sort it all out...

I'm with Pipex, i've always had a good service until recently but the last call I made I had to do a whole bunch of diagnostics which took days before a BT engineer was called to the switch. It's not fault of pipex, it's going to be a BT issue but BT will not tend to a problem unless the ISP have done their required tests and has got the customer to perform the required tests too.

Finding the time to go through all that again is putting me off but i'll have to do it soon.

The ironic thing is I work for an ISP but not able to get the services I'd like where I live!

So you work for one of the cable providers then? no cable in my street either. Not such a bad thing with who our local provider is tho.
