Hi Roland, Not sure if this will help you, but I live out in the welsh countryside (nothing like London here, just lots of mountains and sheep). But when I do visit big cities, I look for big buildings with lots of glass, also graffiti and urban street shots.

Are you kidding!!
London must be one of the best places, and certainly has a wide variety, for general photography. Only thing I would say is NOT the London Eye.

Hi Roland .. I have never been to the UK but .. in the city of London there has got to be hundreds of thousands of different things to photograph ... old churches, inside and out .. lots of parks with lakes and flowers. birds .. . tall buildings, old buildings .. monuments .. street signs .. bridges, waterways .. rivers .. candid photos of people .. streets .. lanes or alleys .. tips .. lol .. If and when I get to visit there ... I would take thousands of photos .. lol. have fun ... waiting to see some of your new images ... lol ..
Cheers
Else

I'm also from London, when I'm lacking inspiration I tend to focus on the people around me. I seem to have a litle obsession with OAP's at the moment for some reason, but tourists are good, street entertainers, homeless (not sure how tastefull that is though!) Hope this helps

lets see ... long exposures of the crowds in london ( stay away from privately owned places like shopping centres unless you have written permission)
How many beautiful bridges boats .. homeless people ... street performers, high rise buildings, amazing architecture can a man want?
i have a little trick i do when my brain goes blank and it all looks the same old stuff i see day in and out.... firstly i browse as many images as my eyes will take... i go out camera in hand briefly close my eyes and open them... and there you have it new sight new world

If I were in London or any other city, personally, I'd go by the phrase "It's not what you see, it's what you don't see". Most londoners are commuters and spend a lot of time in the same routine and never stop to admire the beauty of certain elements that make up their city. Look at something we all take for granted and make it look unique and wonderful.
There are too many preconceptions about London. Big buildings, concrete, lack of wildlife, pollution etc. I believe everywhere has its beauty, its just finding the right angle.
