To get the copyright symbol © depending on system

Hold down the Alt Key and type 0169 on the number pad
(right hand side of keyboard)
Alt+0169.

or

Hold down Ctrl Key and Alt Key at the same time and press C
Ctrl+Alt+C

Cool, didn't know the CTRL ALT C method.

For the 3 of us mac users on here, it's ALT+G, simples.

It doesn't appear to work for me! Is copyright a 'given' or do you have to register somewhere for it to ne effective?

In the UK copyright is granted as soon as you press the shutter, I think MOST places are the same but not all.
It's not widely known though, so a © can bring attention to the fact.
I'm looking for a link, but struggling. However I do have a copy of this printed on A4 in my bag, link.

You'll have to scroll down, he specifically asks people not to link directly to the document.
