PhotoTopix Competition: A LITTLE TEST
This competition is the very first automatically scheduled competition and will be used to test the new competition system. There is an open theme for this test competition and all rules below can be ignored but please limit your entries to one per person to help with testing.

We are running this test competition just to make sure everything is working as it should and quickly fix any problems once the main competitions start.

As always your support is extremely appreciated.

How does it work?

This competition will be open to submit your photo between the entry start and close dates detailed above. When judging starts, the competition gallery will be closed for new uploads.

Five of the best photos will be chosen by the competition judges then a poll will made available to members and the voting then starts.

Once member voting has closed, the winners will automatically be revealed and notified via PM.

All entries are entirely anonymous until voting has closed and the winners revealed.

Competition Rules

• 1. All images submitted must be your own work
• 2. Any image submitted must not have been previously published in any media save with the exception of to the web, either via your own site, or a photo sharing site.
• 3. Manipulation of an image is perfectly acceptable as is compositing.
• 4. PhotoTopix reserve the right to use your image in any media they see fit, for the sole purposes of promoting the site.
• 5. The judges decision of the short list is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the method of selection.
• 6. In the final stages of the competition, one member one vote procedures are in place to identify breaches of this condition. Any breach will result in disqualification and withdrawal of membership.
• 7. To be eligible to vote, you must have been a member for a minimum of seven day prior to the end of the competition.
• 8. Entry is limited to one per member.
• 9. Entrants under 16 must obtain written permission from a parent or guardian before entering.
• 10. It is the entrant`s responsibility to ensure that all the necessary permissions are obtained from people featured in a photograph where necessary
• 11. Entrants will be deemed to have understood the above rules and accepted them and agree to be bound to them when entering the competition.
• 12. Phototopix reserves the right to cancel this competition at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, and if circumstances arise outside its control.
• 13. If a winning entrant is unable to be contacted after reasonable attempts have been made to do so, Phototopix reserves the right to either offer the prize to the next best entry, or to re-offer the prize in any future competition on phototopix.co.uk.
• 14. Members are not permitted to participate in a competition if they are on the judging panel.

Nearly two hours to go before the end of this test and to see the winners of the test. The winners will receive an automated PM with the good news and their names will automatically be announced in the reserved post above along with the judges name. At the same time, the poll will show the result figures and the Winners Gallery page will automatically be updated with the winners details including the winning pictures.

Things could go horribly wrong at this stage but I'm confident it will go quite well and I will be around at midnight just to make sure things have gone to plan.

And the best part is we're nearly in March when we can start the competitions for real.... looking forward to that a huge amount!
