1.06am and we are still awake!
What can I say. Composition is just right. Dog looks great.
Nikon!? YOU TRAITOR!!
Just kidding mate. There are tons of guys on here with Nik's. In fact I think Paul is a nikon user. How do you find the D2X. I here the new nik's are better to handle than the canons. I got stung a few years back with a F90x and went back to canon and stayed there ever since. All personal preference at the end of the day.
ANYWAY!
Love the pic...have you got any more from this shoot?

careful Alistair...no swearing on here pls! lol Vent*re inspired obviously!
The Nikon handles very well and i like the fact that i can change auto focus points very quickly with the rear button unlike the two touch canon..
However my 1Dmk2 does feel better in my hand and the dedicated flash when used is far superior i feel.
I only use the 17-55 in the studio and that is a nice lens to have. wish canon would bring out the same for me to use on me pro camera..
I like the fact i can just turn up at Nikon UK in Kingston and get the sensor cleaned FOC pretty while i wait....
But still, how many white lenses can you count at sporting events!!

Do you find any noticable difference in the sharpness of the lens between the two?

I do find the Nikon a touch soft at times, but i put most of that down to the fact that i have lots of movement in the studio. Some subdued shots and at 100% look fine. we've had some stuff blown up to 40"x20" canvas wraps and quality is fine. all i've done today is prepare 11 sessions for batching.....snoooooze......
