This is my niece it was taken with a D40x, NIKKOR 18-200mm VR and a SB-400 bounced of the ceiling.
I love the eyes in this picture and is by far my favourite portrait, I cropped the original picture about 10% to emphasize the face and sharpened, other wise its how it came out the camera.

Nice one dave, cant crit babies can you???? Her eyes are like "whats this? never seen one of them before?? whats that clicking noise??  It tells a story and its a moment in life which is great
