Default Trying Something New

Photographers Comments
My girlfriend allowed me to take some photos when I was up visiting to learn how to use my new lights. I thought it turned out not too bad. Shell probably kill me if she finds it on the internet

Shanna

I really like this. An unusual portrait is always welcome as far as I'm concerned. Her eyes are in shadow, but I think that adds to the intimate effect. The posture is very good. Only criticisms are I would have lost the tuft of hair under her hand when I took the shot, and also would have asked her to remove her top so the garment on her shoulder wasn't there. Nice shot.

Thanks for your comments. I totally agree about the hair, and I was hoping that photoshop would allow me to remove it but I've come to the conclusion that if it is possible, then I just don't know enough about photoshop. As for the shirt... for being such a pretty girl she sure is insecure. I would have had a better chance of convincing her to cut off her little finger. Can't complain though... at least she let me practice.

Agree with Rob, had a little go at cloning the hair out, and darkening the T shirt but not too good a bit difficult with the shade around the fingers e.t.c. Nice shot though, hope she doesnt find out!!

Thanks Dennis. Ya it's a little frustrating. I tried cropping it out but the picture doesn't look quite right then (her chin is too close to the bottom. Oh well, live and learn. I told her this morning that I put the picture on... just in case. I'd rather her find out from me.

Very nice shot,
lovely looking girl,i had a play too but you get so far and it starts to look overworked and false,am sure there'll be somone on here who could do it but i'm not quite up to the job yet LOL...

But as with lots of things it's another lesson learned and i'm sure you'll bear it in mind the next time you shoot...
