Hi Viki,
the obvious thing with this one is disconnected hand(s).
I found this at my expense, aparently it's best not to crop forearms or shins, hopefully one of the portrait experts on here will confirm this.
Also it looks like the focal length may have been a bit short, it's difficult to say what to do as I don't know which camera you have.
On the plus side, the light looks nice and soft and his expression is relaxed and natural.

Nice BW. he doesnt seem to miffed by the looks of it!

looks a little soft to me but that could be down to screen res. could do with being a touch deeper in the mid range (mid tones like skin) the watch is a distraction. his expression really makes this shot..nice catchlights in the eyes and good separation between subject and BG. Nice work, should be really pleased with this portrait of Rod
