Mom turned 96 in January .. Was just this past July that she went into a nursing home. She is in a wheelchair, the home is only about 5 min. drive away from us .. so we are over there frequently to visit with her. .. I know that the photo isnt perfect .. but .. Thats my Mom ... so it is perfect ....

Well, bless you Else!!!!...my first thought was, "You've come a long ways baby". Remember how you first started taking pictures of your mom??....you just stuck in there and went back for retries. By golly, it has all paid off!...This is a great picture and I like the fact that you have included her hands. The light is really flattering for her.

Hey Else, not perfect?
Well it's not bad! As Fay said the light is really good in this one.
One thing I would try is setting the WB to cloudy or shade to add a little warmth, or if that's too warm maybe try sunny.
The only thing that I see as a problem is the line caused by the corner, if you work this one out let me know, then I can fix most of my indoor shots lol.

Lovely picture Else. Agree with Fay about the lighting. I also like the way you've brought out those colours in her blouse and the blanket

She has such a knowing look .... But , at 96 year old , imagine all the changes she has seen to this world , in her life time ... she is precious!

Hi Fay ... yes I can surely remember the first photo that I had posted of my mom. . and think that this one .. is a little bit different .. and I can see where there has been an improvement over the last couple of years. . You can really see that her hands are work worn .. they surely scrubbed a good many loads of laundry all by hand .. for 6 kids .. and . she didn't have a washing machine until. .. 1948 or 49 .. Could tell u scads of stories .. of her life . in the late 30's she was cooking meals for others and helping my dad in the livery stable .. and at that time . she had 3 little ones. . that is including me .. lol... So thanks for stopping by and visiting my mom .. I know that she will be so pleased .. her short term memory is shot .. but the long term is still very good ...

Hi Viki .. it is one to treasure .. Not sure how many more .. Photos that will be taken of Mom .. she really is well .. and healthy .. she doesn't take many medication .. She keeps on asking me . when she is going to turn a 100 and I tell her Not yet mom .. lol ..
Hi Merv, I will try to work out that corner bit .. see what I can do with it .. and will try that again . using cloudy or shade .. Oh just thought of it . can open this in RAW .. even though it isn't a RAW file in CS3 and change it there .. thank you for the brilliant .. idea ...
Hi Diane .. yes My mom is a treasure .. and I have sent this around to the family that have internet ... So they will all enjoy seeing mom/Grandma ..
Thank you .. for all stopping by and visiting with my mom .. know that she will be thrilled .. now to find someone with a laptop .. so I can show her .. that would be wonderful ..
