you are on the right track with this one,if you had her mouth in this it would make more of an impact. although you have her eyes in you cant really tell much as the hand and glass obscure too much..
you are in the right place, good light and exp. nice crop but the glass lets it down, although i can see why you have taken this shot as i'm guessing it was in a quiet, poss emotional part of the speech hence she was deep in thought or similar.
i have attached one of my shots, showing a different side to cropping in close during the speeches.
It took a while for me to get the hang of it but you soon get the "feeling" when to point the lens and at who.
You should be proud of this mate, as technically its perfect, framing wise its good too just avoid obstructions if at all possible, if not pan out wider and get more of a scene from the shot
