I like this alot , the selective coloring works great . I think Freds is a fitting name for this guy ... He has a bit of a wild look about him . I'm glad he dosen't have a sissy name like Fluffy .... I wish you good luck in the contest. I think this should do well!
As a wildlife photographer I often shoot animals in low light and find that I have to give the eyes a little attention . What works for me is to carefully select each eye (not including eyelids). Then I brighten them a bit , then up the contrast a bit , then saturate just a bit . This takes them back to about the color I started with , but adds more life and clarity and gets rid of any glazed look ....The key is moderation of course , because you don't want to pop the eyes right out of the head .

Hi Merv, I think that the selective colouring works great on this. But how could it not look good with such a great subject, I get to see a few of these fellows, when they stay at the cattery my wife helps at and they allways have time for some fuss - lol

Thanks all for all the comments.
Cheers for the link Rob, now 'we' want one of those too!
Else and Donna, I have pushed the eyes as far as my skill allows, I made a basic error, forgot to change ISO after doing something else but I will start again and try out your suggestions.
Cheers Pete, they are a special breed thats for sure, very bold, brash and cheeky, they are also very intelligent which can make life hard from time to time, we have to block the food cupboards up as he is a little thief!
