Just fooling around. Great looking kid, so many possibilities.
Ah those pesky catchlights!
Say hello to Nat and Madog.

Eh up, you been going to the Canon/half pint roadshow! I think you and donkey boy are trying to subtley infinltrate the forum with emotional child orientated canon fodder - seriously though this is a lovely shot - the catchlights are not really a problem, maybe just go in and change the shape a bit on photoshop, great expression on little one - I would have brought out Mum a bit more either with a slightly different light bangle or by dodging on the highlight areas - she looks a bit too lost in the dark there - I also think this could be very good in mono - cut out the colour info and the brain (thing Nikon users have) reads the emotion and expressions more making it more powerful. Well done on this, nice one.

Very constructive crits mate and i'm very grateful for them too. I know exactly what you mean and I do love the mono images that come from these type of shots. I'll make some changes before it goes to print.
Many thanks mate.

Hey Mate, long time no speak, hope all is fine. Lovin this shot mate. nothing wrong here, the colours are great and i think i would prefer this in colour than BW.. only thing i would do is poss lighten her face a touch and darken her neck downwards to pull the eye higher.. nice shot as always..you have a really intimate sense of emotion with your portraits...keep up the good work

Lovely and punchy....I would definitely stay with the colour version too.

And I agree the catch are my problem as well, as they are just not complimentry to this poor little fellow.
Genese has made some good suggestions for your next shoot.

But a superb image never the less......why shouldn't you be called Top Cat?

Hi Andy, i've been coming back to this very sweet picture. i kind of like that the mother is in the shadowy background, forever mindful of her little treasure who is the subject here. nicely set up and a delightful image.
