New angle..
Photographers Comments
I did a shot a while ago where i tried to simulate a street urchin look from the 20s/30s.
Now I have added some colour and worked with a mesh adaption from my 3d application and merged it with the original pic. I think I may have gone too far this time. Its meant to look dated and kind of painted-but-not-quite-look to it.
I have stared at this image for so long I can no longer see the wood for the trees.
Any ideas of crits warmly taken guys.
Many thanks
Tco

most of it looks fine to me but if you're going for a dated look, the eyes are maybe a bit bright and glassy if that makes sense. they look beautiful but new.

Hi Andy,
I think for the dated look it looks too clean and sharp. The colours need to be knocked back in the saturation to around -30/40 and a small amount of blur filter needs to be added to take away the crispness. I would also add a white overlay, knocked back to around 5%, reduced even further with the aid of the eraser tool at around 20% in patches to help with the ageing feel.

i agree, the eyes give it a "new" look, but i don't think it matters. i really like the dark tones and black bg sets him off very well. nice work, Andy.
