Hi Andy, Emma is very comfortable in this image and the surroundings are really peaceful, the only thing that lets this shot down for me is the burnt out hair, otherwise I like it very much.

agree about the shaft of light...this can move and change so quickly. To catch the natural moment, there will always be compromises. I like how the light has her fingertips glowing..would have liked to have seen abit more of this on her face (in a perfect world). I've notice that in dappled light the camera seems to find a way to accentuate it more than it appears to the eye.

The blown hair is an obvious point but the emotions generated by Emma and her surroundings far outweigh any other crit. Nice shot dude, havent checked the exif assume its your Lumix?

Agreed.
Sometimes the image as a whole is strong enough to surpass minor technical issues. This, for me at least, is one of those shots. I love it.

Thank you all for these comments - it was interesting to note the blow out issue on the head - I was very aware of it and nearly did not submit it knowing that it would be a stumbling point but I loved the emotion and wondered if that would make a difference. I agree that sometimes technical issues are not so important and it is the message or emotion the image conveys that is what matters. In this case I think it would have been wrong to try and manipulate the image. Ta all!
