Many holy men around the temples in Katmandu, this one has a lovely smile with gorgeous twinkly eyes. Tweaked the colour quite a bit as he is in really bright yellow but rather liked this toned down look

Shazzer, hello!
This portrait is extraordinary. What you have taken here is not only a sharp and clear documentary of a man, but you have managed to capture a naturalness and a joy that essentially shows his personality. Catchlights in the eye are fab! plus I really like the close crop with the dark bg.
My only nitpic, even though you did say you enjoyed the toned down/altered colouring, is that I would like to see his teeth and eyes whiter, rather than grey. I think it would just give the image a bit more lift.
But really it is a great shot!

PS forgot to to mention the excellent detail & texture of his beard.

Thank you xNx for your lovely comment. Of all the holy men we saw on the Tourist trail in Katmandu this one was the most natural and 'genuine'. I fell in love with his smile.
