I too missed this shot first time round, excellent portrait nice and sharp. Hope that you enjoyed Katmandu as it is one of my favourite places in the world, people are so friendly and you feel safe walking the streets on your own at night. And the climbing is great too. I will be back there again soon.

Hi Barry, thank for your comment. This was taken in the "cremation' temple in Katmandu. He seemed to be genuinely happy to have his picture taken Most of the other Holy men I came across were a bit jaded.
Fantastic trip and like you felt very safe although I was with four other photographers. Went to Phokora and trekked for three day from there.

Actually will now confess. Won Portrait of the year in our photography club annual competition with this picture which as you can imagine looks splendid printed A3 size. His eyes have a Mona Lisa effect and follow you around the room.

I am not surprised to here this, It is a splendid image and you must be pleased with this. Glad that you enjoyed Katmandu as well, my second favourite place is Marrakech.
