Ive been on Aunty duty today - this is my gorgeous neice.

I've re-worked this a little bit on advice from Fstopman. I increased the exposure in the RAW conversion and vingetted the edges hopefully it looks a bit better.

Mu its a nice image of a little sweetie but its too black and white i feel the edit is better but i would have kept the background a bit darker to make her pop. I notice you have converted to grayscale and lost the colour info, i never disregard the colour info because you can play with it in an adjustment layer. So keep the image but use a black and white adjustment layer and play with the sliders. I have added a tint and i think it improves it a bit. If you dont like its fine.

Not sure about the tint Den, I thought I had converted in the RAW converter and played with the sliders but not sure right now my menopause memory isn't doing me justice.

Anyway I think I prefer the colour version, just thought I'd have a go at a B&W conversion but it hasn't been all that successful. Colour version attached with suitably darkened background.

Hi Muriel, I think the colour one just has the edge, although both are nice. But I feel that a bit more of a smile may had helped or eye contact with the camera.

Hi Barry, I know what you mean but she's supposed to look miserable & refusing to make eye contact - that's the significance of being on the stairs. You know - the naughty step!

Thanks Bev, yeah she is a stunner. It's nice to have a little girl around I only had boys would have ended up with a football team if I'd carried on in my pursuit of a girl - hey ho!
