Hi genese,
Nice compostion and tight crop but, image is blown out/overexposed on the childs face, arm and jacket. This could be rectified and recovered if shot in RAW.
Shot looks good in B and W, almost high key if you play with curves in ps as I tried doing ;-).

Oh, it's so sweet. "Go on, girl, you'll be OK." I don't suppose it was difficult to overexpose a white fur stole against a red dress, black suit, black background...

(kidding) Digital can struggle sometimes, even now. You have my sympathy with the lighting in this one. Some of the best 'moment' shots are often the least light friendly. Was there anything you could have bounced the flash off of ?
