A very good, natural looking portrait Muriel .... you must be pleased with it. The subjects are sharp with plenty of detail and the background is nicely out of focus. Looks as though you were blessed with some good, soft, cloudy-bright light. At first I wasn't sure about the raised shoulder but looking at it a few times it's perfectly in keeping with what is going on in the scene and not posed .... so that's nice then. Would it be better if the dog was making eye contact as well? who knows, who cares ... it's a good one

Thanks Dave, yeah it was good light and I do like it but the really big issues were getting the puppies (there were two of them) to be sharp and look in the right direction, the darn things just wont keep still! It made me smile when you mentioned eye contact there was another shot I really liked of Will holding the other puppy. He doesn’t like being handled as much as his sister, I didn’t realise til I looked at it on the PC – he has his eyes closed! Anyway attached it for you to see what you think and one of them playing that’s just a little bit ooof.

Thanks for sharing Muriel ....... we are in a similar position in that we have a 14week old King Charles Cavalier Spaniel (a Ruby – the all over rust/brown colour) and trying to get some shots of him is nigh on impossible as he just won’t stay still long enough. Face of an angel, energy of a Tasmanian Devil

Hi Mu have 2 lads 18 & 22 when the camera comes out they are more elusive than Gordon Brown sorting a tax cut! Give them this lovely doggy and i might stand a chance. Really nice portrait, like the way the dog looks the other way actually it seems more natural.

Hi Muriel, This is a real nice shot, as already said it is sharp with good colours and the background is nice and soft with nothing too distracting. This one should print nicely to go in the family album.

Hi Muriel ... Very nice and know how hard it is to get a teen to sit still, plus the puppy .. .. my youngest grandson is 15 .. In years to come your son will be so happy that you have taken the time to take this photo.... Thanks for sharing ..
Cheers
Else
