Default Rose in vase

Photographers Comments
I quite like this but would like opinions on whether anyone else thinks it works.

I find the simple uncluttered composition, lighting, and colours appealing .......... to me, this 'under-stated' type of image is quite dramatic!

It does and it doesn't for me,i like the idea of a dead flower for a change and i like the framing with the vase...

I would prefer a touch more light on the flower and a more defined edge on the vase to seperate it a bit more from the BG...

Appreciate your honest feedback Steve. I wondered about the edge of the vase but decided I liked it. I did want other peoples takes on it though

Hi Maureen......I really like this, I love the rose and am not at all worried by the vase and like the fact that it becomes secondary to the rose through great use of DOF!!!
Good one

I commented on someone elses image of a not so perfect rose, and again this one shows what ever the condition a flower is in it can become a wonderful image, well done again Maureen, i love the way the vase disappears into the background, as Di said brilliant use of DOF.
