Default Clematis in my garden

Photographers Comments
I have just bought a new macro lens for my holidays (we are going to the island of flowers Madeira tomorrow morning) it’s a sigma 105- 2.8 I found it to be a little disappointing it takes time to focus plus it’s very noisy I now wish I had saved up a little longer and bought the Nikon but the results aren’t too bad.
Bryan.

Bryan, lovely shot started doing macro myself, biggest tip i got from Bev who i think is the champeen of macro shots is put the lens on manual focus. My camera still shows the focus points when i am in focus and i just work the zoom or the focus ring until i get the shot. Second due to small depth of field it is easy to lose said focus so use a tripod. It has increased my sharpness and composition no end. Have a nice time.

Hi Bryan .. yes love the colours .. and I am sure .. once you get use to the lens looking forward to some great macros .. when u return. Find that when u buy something new .. have at least a few weeks time to fiddle with lens. or new camera .. etc until u get use to it .. really helps and .. everyone here is so helpful to move you along in the right direction ...
Cheers
Else
