The Garden Funnelweb spider

Its that time of year again and with a little warmth and sunshine these guys are soon out and about in the hedges and bushes, this one is sunning itself in the sunshine coming through the bush.

Canon 20D 50mm 12mm Ext tube.

Hi Bev, think i might have to move to Essex you have the most fantastic subjects i cant seem to find any like that around here! Not keen on spiders but this one looks good!! Very impressed you always know the species.

Den if you have parks or any form of wasteland your find them! just need to be prepared to get your head in the bushes and your butt in the air! took me a while to get used to being so close to the creepy crawley kind.
Trevor, many thanks for comment, il look in all sorts of places for insect species.
Tco.Lol..Lol..this spider is about as big as a 10p piece, so even i can brave that size!

Do you know how difficult that is for an 18stone bloke who is not very tall but is slightly wider than the average bear!

Tedz..iv read up on the Australian funnelweb...not nice! but our common old garden funnels are inoffensive andhave no teeth!!
