Rose In Quadtones

I had play time for awhile today .. took this photo then thought I would try a Quadtone tutorial in a Scott Kelby book .. I took this photo with my G7 in Macro mode and hand held ..

Very nice close up but not quite sharp enough for me. I would have preferred the centre to be a little sharper so as to draw me in. I like the colouring that's a pretty good effect as it helps emphasize the shadows.

I can't tell what your aperature was but, for me, I'm finding the focus sharp on the right hand side but it does peter out on the left side. Really like your subject, how the petals are wide open and supple..I like the color conversion and your lighting

*sigh* ... I am blinded by all that info ... but then, I am not very bright.
I find the less sharp adds, rather than detracts from the Photo. It, the lack of cutting sharpness, makes the Rose appear soft and sensuous (talking about the Rose not Fred) ... I have never been able to follow Tutorials, but I like Your result here. You for one are never afraid to experiment.
I wish I had met You when You visited NZ ... You could have brought Me Lunch
