Time to come out (summer is here)
Photographers Comments
Bud emerging from pod, used bevs inspired macro extension ring. (20mm) 105mm focal length, used a tiny clamp to ensure the wind didnt move the bud and a tripod and remote shutter release.
I am pleased but let me know what you think, just levels and a square crop done. Dont hold back need to know if on right track with my new found admiration for Macro, (not a macro lens by the way 18-200 zoom tamron)

Cheers all, this bud is only 20mm (3/4in old money) across so it shows how the extension tubes allow you to magnify higher than 1:1 very chuffed, was going to buy macro lens but getting results like this with standard lens i wont bother.

Heck I'm going backwards with your images, I just commented on the rose and now I see all the background info here......no blond moment then!!!
The clarity is amazing, these extension things work really well, I wonder if they would work on my Fuji??? Great colour too

Havent seen any for fuji, only canon nikon mainly had to hunt for the sony mount, mine were minolta but since sony bought minolta it continued with the same mount so i can get away with it. The lens has to come off and the tube goes in between the lens and the body this then shortens the minimum focal distance so the image is closer, bigger and you get more detail....Tripod essential, used a tiny little clamp to hold it still and a cable release. Ignored all this before, however i can see it all goes to making a very sharp picture straight from the camera.
Thanks for the nice comments by the way

Denny what can i say, apart from amazing, this is the spot on example of macros shown as natural, sharp, and with an A+ DOF used, and you have displayed how a variety of lenses can give great effect and detail without paying out alot of money for macro lenses.
