My only crit is the ocer exposed part of the branch and maybe give it a little more colour but fab shot all the same..

broad bodied chaser it is! The black frontal marks and gold/yellow spots down the flank give it away. i have not seen one with such a rich coloured thorax as this so I am loving this image for this alone.
I love it totally. The only thing that slightly spoils it for me is the contrast on the far side of the abdomen...blown out a little. I suspect this is due to strong sunlight. BUT!>>>>> strong sunlight illustrates how good a shot this is because the chasers are notoriously difficult to shoot when their temperature is up and the sun is shining.

Great shot Julie and glad to see these creatures are starting to appear.
Tco...where do your talents end??? now a master of dragonflies...i hope you dont wear your pants over the top of your trousers and your not telling us your hidden secret oh knowledgeable one!!! ( On a serious note though thanks for the info on the chaser, much appreciated)

I was a saddo child Bev and used to be into natural history and SSI's...then I discovered beer and went downhill from there
