Was experimenting with all kind of things and finally settled for this macro

The direct flash used on this one spoils it for me a flower is delicate and needs to be soft lit, also a little of the top cropped to tight.

The flash has made this image look flat and given it harsh shadows. If you had to use your built in flash try diffusing it a little. Get some tissue or a piece of white paper and hold it over your flash this will soften the light. or with the paper angle it from the flash to give a diffused bounce affect have a play with practice you will see what I mean.

All in all you are on the right track just take a little more time to look around your image before pressing that button..
