Nice idea Phil there is some burn out on the pawns which is a shame. I would have liked a different angle on this to emphasise the one still forward. Glad to see your experimenting again....

Hi Nik,
Couldn't avoid the hotspots here, I need to invest in a light tent. I tried the straight on angle, but didn't like the result due to too many of the pawns being hidden by the one in front. I tried to shoot from a higher angle but felt that didn't work either. I think I need to go back to the drawing board.

I think if you come down angle wise look through the viewfiner as you place the pawns in place and try for a very narrow DOF this would make it very interesting... This is of cause IMHO...

looks like group of alter boys being instructed by the bishop. I'm wondering if a veil of cheesecloth would diffuse the light more and minimize the blowouts??
