Just took a picture of something indoors as it was really bad weather. started playing around in CS3, tried to get an art feel to it. Feel free to comment honestly, I want to keep improving.

Very creative mate!
I have shot 100's of wine bottles in the last 18 months and was forbidden to do anything 'different' with any of them. Wine merchants can be so tetchy!
Nice idea, good placement structure/composition and I like the treatment you gave it.

The only thing that looks a bit odd is the bottle does not show through he glass all the way down.

So you get Hardy's over there too? My trouble when shooting wine bottles is the they are always empty before I get a chance to do anything creative. This a lovel shot, nice and crisp to go with the wine, though if it was chilled I would have expected to see a bit of condensation. Maybe it is too cold i Lincolnshire to chill wines

I like it also, not sure if it needed a litle more of the treatment then you gave it as to me it is neather one or the other at the moment. I dont know if it would improve it or not just my feelings.. But would look good on the cover of a wine menue...

Hi Dave,
I too like the treatment applied here. It makes it look as though I have had two glasses of the stuff already I did not notice the bottle through the glass until I read Andy's crit, but now I have it niggles me. My only other suggestion would be to have the levels of liquid in the glass and bottle the same, so it shows as a continuous height and line.

Got to agree with Nik here it would probably look alright on the front cover of a wine menu,
but as for the treatment that you gave it this arty feel (and I must admit something that I have never done so know nothing of) and not having seen the original makes it harder to comment as well but something just tells me that some other photo would have made a better subject matter for this treatment, but then I could be wrong also. Post up the original.

I'm going to hazard a guess that the plastic wrap filter was in use here? I'll agree with what has gone before re condensation and seeing the bottle through the glass and add that I'd like to see a little more colour in the wine in the glass.

Thanks Andy, you crease me with your brill sense of humour mate, the effect must be this refraction thing as it was like that from the start.

Yeah we get hardys and very nice it is too! ( I only drink the red stuff myself) There was condensation at first, but it didn't last long!

The plastic wrap probably was used, along with so many others I could never re-create the shot if I tried. You may be right about the colour - red grapes, should have used red wine?
