Very nice ... I reckon you could play with the curves/contrasts a bit in Photoshop to bring up the background to white, which might also brighten up the orchid a little as well. Personally I would prefer just a touch more space to the right of the buds which seem just a little close to the edge...

Hi Sharron, this a lovely flower. I am not sure that you need to crop (you get two people you get two or more opinions). What i think is lacking is detail in the flowers themselves. What do you call the bits with the yellow inside? Anyway in think the need a bit of light.
A friend of mine is an orchid enthusiast, she has hundreds and of all the photos I have taken only a few have turned out well enough to show her.
