Hi Donna.. Another wonderful macro, great detail, It really is fun playing with a RAW image. I have done it quite a few times .. but not good at it ..
Cheers
Else

That is the main advantage of RAW, being able to retrieve shadow and highlights. Very nice butterfly shot with good detail and nicely composed against the flowers.

Thank you Else and Barry
I went out just to try some flower shots and this butterfly happened to land in front of me so I shot him ... I chased these around last year and never managed to get one ...There are a lot more of them this year so I am having way better luck .

You are right Barry , I am really seeing a difference in images with a lot of white , as it is so easy to blow out the whites in a jpeg image .

Great capture Donna and well done going Raw! once i started i never looked back, you can get so much more from a raw file when editing, might be a bit more work involved but well worth it.

Thank you very much Bev ... I'm thinking there is even a little more detail in the tiny things , hope it's not my imagination ... Yes a bit more work ,Luckilly not as much more as I expected ...definately worth while .

Donna,

Great shot, good catch of the butterfly. I really like the way the butterfly is set off so well against the greyish background, it makes a change from the usual green bokeh.

Regards

Thank you very much Darren glad you like the photo , it's nice to get a variety of backgrounds , because as you mentioned , one does end up with a lot of photos with green bokeh bacgrounds over the years ... not that there is anything wrong with them
