Hi Donna,

I like the shot as the weird beetle is a really interesting subject.

I would say though, that for my taste it is a little muted. I'm no expert, but I would like the colours to be more vibrant/brighter. Was it dull out / the subject shaded?

Hi Darren , sorry for the late reply , I haven't been around here much lately . Thank you for the comments

Yes , the sun was behind a cloud when I took the photo . You would probably like the ones I took with the sun shining better . More contrasty , but the blue on the bug's back didn't show up when the sun was out , it just appeared to be solid black .
