Might it have worked better if you had turned the camera on to its side? Nice & sharp.

Hi Katie,

I used the Canon 20D with a 50mm lense and a 12mm Kenko extension tube.

Ah! my macro mentor strikes again.

It took me ages to do the fly pic..and that was dead! I still have a long way to go to get outdoor living crawlies as you seem to achieve time and again.

What was the aperture on this one Bev? and the shutter speed, iso...all the juicey bits.

Great shot Bev, could do with a crop to get better composition.
Keep up the great work.

Lol..Tco you'l be surprised how quick you get the hang of macro, and with your first display ( dead or alive) i think you have the knack of it pretty much clinched...iv got to start looking into the technical aspects of flash and basically how to use it, as i have only used built in flash and i need a new challenge, so this will be daunting to me, thats the beauty of photography there's always another challenge around the corner!

Oh humble one.. your very kind with your comments and iv never blushed so much!

The exif info for the Cinnabar moth is:
f5.6 (i usually always use this aperature) 1/250 ISO 200, metering mode pattern - handheld.

You REALLY do inspire me, i mean that, if i did one shot as good as yours i would be so chuffed!! Me and TCO are starting a Tawny fan club soon!!
