Hi Whatt,
I like this very much. The way the bottom right petals stand out from the leaves is particularly good and catches my eye. I think the rose itself would benefit from a little more sharpening. Just to make the petals a little crisper.
Cheers

I like it Else. Has a lovely soft and delicate feel to it. Nicely done. Would look lovely on a Valentine card!

Nice & bright contrasting colours Else. I to like the idea of adding a bud, as it just seems to give that little extra!.
I'm surprised to see you getting away with f5.6 though, but hey good for you, it's turned out nice and soft, and without any harsh shadows!
Did you take this with your little make shift set up........I think that this is a good idea?
Cheers from,
Joseph

Hi Joseph, Thank you for your comments and visit ... and Yes did set it up in my little studio .. opened the garage doors .. and find that to not get a whole lot of shadow .. hold a large card up to block direct light on the roses ... Plus I wouldn't know if f5.6 is good or bad .. I have been trying to read a good many articles on the net regarding .... f stops .. and how they work ... but .. have only just starting doing that .. Think that it will take awhile for it to all sink in ..
Cheers
Else

Thank you for reply Else.
You know after I wrote this, I tried looking for that Post of yours about your garage set-up.
And I couldn't find it.
Must admit that I did miss it when it was first put up, but saw it months later, and I thought
Oh! good for you, for this is the best way to go...........well for just about anything small and fiddly.
But I was amazed with that aticle, because instead of everyone giving you some encouragement and advice
about table top photography they all started raving on about their own backyard shed.
f5.6 yeah it's probably not the best choice. I don't know how to say this, and I haven't been watching your other photos, but if you want to improve you're be well avised to take your Camera off auto........for starters
Camers especially these new ones, are just like computers they can measure everything for you, very well in fact but they can't see what you're photographing.
But somehow I feel that you may find tabletop photography very interesting when you get into it.
A lot of people find it facinating and specialize in it...........and there's tones to learn with it.
Cheers for now,
Joseph.

Glad that you took it so well, as I don't like giving advice particuarly if it's not asked for.
Sometimes I just feel that I come across a little harsh, compared with others, who just seem to
be able to say the same things but with a much nicer subtlety, so consequencely I get a little nervous
about what I write.
Cheers
Joseph.
