Default Fish House, Mevagissey, Cornwall

Photographers Comments
The current Mrs f18 and myself were having a short break in St Austell, Cornwall. This is Megagissey Harbour. We had, er, ‘enjoyed’ sea mist & fog all day long spoiling our coastal walk and we were a bit peed-off. Off to Mevasissey for an evening pint or two and a bite to eat. Walking around the harbour about 30 mins from sunset the mist suddenly rolled away leaving a perfect stillness and giving some nice reflections. Glad I chose to take the camera on such an unpromising evening.

Excellent shot mate. Makes me wish I was there now. Really sharp colours and lots of them.
Cheers

You were just up the road and you never offered to buy me beer!!!!
Outrageous!!

This little harbour can be very photogenic at timesmate. Padstow is another, Port Issac...in fact there are a few. Its finding them when they are not smothered in people. You managed to park ok then? Did you use the huge car park on the edge of the village or did you manage to park up by back of the harbour?

Nice still image, very cornish looking mate. Could easily be a postcard.

Chaps, thanks for the comments. I’ve said elsewhere … I’m amazed at how often I get a half reasonable shot at the most unexpected of times. After the bad day we had I wasn’t even going to take the camera but did, just at the last minute, just in case ……. Funny old world init

Outrageous!! …….. + Parking
But Sir, this was before we were formally introduced! At that time I would never have dreamed of making such an advance to the Laird of Cornwall prior to us first having made acquaintance through a mutual third party. Otherwise malicious intent may be suspected I would be chancing a slap across the face with a buckled glove and pistols at dawn. If the regiment found out I could be ostracized.

However now, having made your acquaintance and seen what a jolly fine chap and all round good egg you are, I would never insult you by visiting your fair island without making appointments for the exchange of fair talk, the clicking of mechanized shutter contraptions, a visit to Mrs Miggin’s pasty shop and the partaking of large quantities of alcoholic beverages. I am, Sir, your most obedient servant

I managed to stable the faithful steed for the duration on a piece of land a few streets behind the harbour by proffering a small amount of coinage to some chap (from the lower orders but a cheery soul nonetheless) employed for the purpose. Some local landowner maximizing financial reward from a piece of private land in a preferential location I’d hazard a guess.
