This chicken-like marsh bird is native to the Southeastern USA. It has extremely large feet so it can walk on lily pads in search of food. It flips over the edges of the pads and picks the insects off the pads.

Lovely bird. Good capture, nice and sharp with lovely colours. The three twigs are a little distracting particularly the one in front. Still nice image

I love the colours in this bird, great shot, nice and sharp. Have to agree about the front twig, needs removing.
