The Calm Before...
Photographers Comments
I love the light you get just before heavy rain. This three frame panorama, shot on the edge of Lennox Forest, was taken just moments before the heavens opened with another downpour.

Now, this is what i do when the dolls let me out...
Seriously though, thanks for the comments. One of the big benefits of living where i do (steep hills on one side, hilly forest to the other and a narrow east/west valley corridor in between) is the 'micro-climate'. The weather is very changeable, but you can watch the clouds form along the hills to the west and can almost perfectly time when the rain/snow will start (or stop, for that matter. It certainly helps when going out to take moody shots like this!
That said, you still get more than a little wet!

Very atmospheric, love the dark clouds whilst the sun starts to lose it's light, nice setting and you pressed the shutter at the right time. As you said it looks better with the black background. Great image.

Thankfully yes! Well, actually, hitting the shutter a couple of times to get the pano really. As it turned out, this was the only full sequence pano i got before the rain started and the water started to ripple.

I love the glossy look to the photo, and the brooding dark clouds reflected in the water are fantastic!
