This Sparrowhawk flew into one of our warehouses on thursday and i was lucky enough to grab some shots early on friday morning.

Sigma 80mm-400mm Os mate, but there was really poor light so shot at ISO 1600 and with the crop it's a bit grainy.

Couldn't get it to upload so had to resize it, so for some reason the EXIF isn't there.

Great Opportunity to photograph an amazing bird Steve, unfortunately we cant always get the perfect settings and light for wildlife shots! so you have done a great job.

Cheers both, i'm told they are quite hard to catch so am pleased to have grabbed a few shots even though i'm not that happy with them, but it was nice to just see it anyway....

What! a Sparrowhawk just fle...Oh yeah, and BTW, Kate Winslet dropped by my place this afternoon, panting she was, took her kit straight off and said 'Shoot me Rob, shoot me then we can get down to the real business... '

Oh well sometimes you just have a bit of luck.... Last year a red kite came in and an expert came and got it out with a tissue tied to a piece of string (i S**T you not) unfortunately after ringing round about 12 different agencies/clubs etc the hawk was found dead on saturday morning as nobody could come out, and we were passed from pillar to post trying to help!!!!

You would have thought someone would have been bothered to do something to save it but sadly not....

Hi Steve .. great photo of the hawk and it's too bad that there was no response to help out ... a shame when anyone phones for help .. it's always like .. "it's not my job" .. Thanks for sharing ..
