burning fog

It was a beautiful sunny day in the high lands around us , but there was a heavy fog hanging over the lake . This was creating the hoarfrost and caused this wierd sunset effect that lasted the entire afternoon . It really was a beautiful and unusual day .
This was taken in December , when the days here are short and the sun stays low in the sky all day .

Hi Art , thanks for the comments .... The Sky was pretty cool that day ...This was the day that we decorated the hall for our community Christmas party and every one that was packing a camera showed up late .

We never know what kind of winter we are going to get here anymore ....This last one was a long cold one with a fare bit of snow ...don't even know if it's over yet ,LOL .... some years we barely get any snow and the winters can be pretty short .
