Stourhead In Autumn

Nov 07 .... Yup, I know its chocolate box but it was a morning to remember and we got there an hour before the tourists arrived which provided many early morning shots of autumn sunrise to savour.

Hi Dave, This is a lovely image, nice composition with the bridge trees and lake. The morning sun has really lit up these trees and given a nice reflection in the water.

TVM for your lovely comments folks. I know you would all politely say that I still had to bag the shot with competence but there was a lot of 'right place, right conditions, right time' about this one.

Canon Forever

1Dmk2,10D, 20mm,28-70mm,200mm, Elinchrom3000,1500,600's,500's, Multiblitz200,Bronica SQb, expensive Manfrotto tripod

Just a polarizer mate ..... the sun as coming in almost at 90 degrees so that was great. In PP I have darkened the sky a little (graduated filter effect thingy) as the water was such a deep blue that the much lighter sky looked a little odd without it. A small crop to get the same amount of sky & water in the scene. Then just a tweak of saturation & sharpening in LAB mode.

Ah! Stourhead... summer evenings seated outside the Spread Eagle Inn sipping dry white wine... cracking shot you've got there. How many glasses of el vino did you have to imbibe to get that? The focus looks good.

PS. The Eagle is a great place to stay - you can get up early in the morning to get shots around the park - trouble is they think you are doing a runner without paying!
